We have been medically cleared and our officials letters are on their way. Placement will now receive an update that will allow us to be "invited" to a program. We are looking forward to our Peace Corps experience.

September 21,2011
We are another step closer to our Peace Corps adventure. We received a letter from Shari Quan, our recruiter. We have two options at this time: Sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe. We have decided on Africa with a possible departure date of February. Regular, long distance biking between villages is normal!!!! I wonder if that means one mile on flat ground??????
We have been nominated and are now one step closer to becoming Peace Corps volunteers. In two to three weeks we will be receiving our medical kit with instructions for physicals, dental exams, etc.
An invitation is different from nomination so Joe is not quitting his job or making plans yet. I am starting to get things done though re: financial, cars, homes, real estate etc. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking of so many things.
Grandson #3 is due in January. We are all meeting in Kiawah for Christmas. It will be a great family reunion. I truly treasure the times when we are all together.

Peace Corps Adventure
Dear All,
I am starting a blog for our potential Peace Corps Adventure. Joe and I have applied, had our fingerprints taken, our background check completed and our four hour interview done. We are anxiously awaiting now whether there will be an opening for a couple in healthcare in September. We both are very excited about this new adventure. I plan to keep you all updated with pictures and stories.
