Learning to Deliver Babies......

Every 3 months there is a new group of interns, medical students and nurses.  Inservice education is ongoing.  Every Wednesday morning at turnover a doctor presents on a topic.  There is hope that the subdivisional hospital will start doing more deliveries.  Most deliveries are done in the 3 divisional hospitals, very few home deliveries.  Can't wait to visit Dr. Dan and learn about his experiences!!!

CORONA FASHION SHOW.....

Thank you Corona Club for all the work you do for CWM Hospital....The Corona Club maintains a Hospital trolley.  There is food, sewing toiletry bags, 2nd hand clothes magazines, books toys etc.  The money they make goes to the hospital.

DIABETES FIJI.....

 Minister of Health, Dr. Neil Sharma and Joe.....Diabetic Fiji and MOH are initiating Foot Clinics in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.  They are doing great work.

SUSHI Night!

Shadae taught us how to make sushi.  She also brought Luwak Coffee from Bali.  Native to the area is the small civet-like animal called a Paradoxuraus, the locals call them luwaks.  These little mammals live in the trees and one of their favorite foods is the red, rip coffee cherry.  They eat the cherries, bean and all.  While the bean is in the little guy's stomach, in undergoes chemical treatment and fermentation.  The bean finishes it's journey through the digestive system and exits.  The still intact beans are collected from the forest floor, and are cleaned, then roasted and ground.  It has a rich, heavy, flavor with hints of caramel or chocolate.
