BACKYARD GARDENING DEMONSTRATION

The NCD Team is encouraging backyard gardening as an intervention to decrease non-communicable diseases.  The Minister of Youth gave a demonstration at VSHC to the men of Viseisei Village.  Last night I made a white radish leaf curry and a papaya/cilantro curry - all from the garden here.  Joe, Sheetal, Ben and Namrata are creating a cookbook from their healthy cooking classes.  Solar Sun, a company in the US has donated a solar stove.  It might be a good alternative or supplement to wood stoves and kerosene stoves that so many people have in the villages.  Joe and I are building a solar dryer to dry our fruits and vegetables also.
